Nearly 3 years ago the Project 405 website began as a 1 year experiment. Now after 700 posts and 23,000 site visits we have reached a crossroad with this ministry. The Project405 guys have decided to put this website on hold while we continue to serve God in different ways, as we each have been feeling other callings weighing on our hearts.

We are so thankful for all of the support we have received from everyone, especially from our friends who helped with the video production during the first year or so.

Any thoughts or feedback that you leave in the Comments section below is appreciated.

We want to encourage you to check out one of the following web sites and continue your daily walk with God:

Life and Spiritual Goals- Romans 10:14 (NET)

18 01 2010

Now that we are a couple of weeks into the new year, you’ve probably made at least one “New Year’s Resolution”; Lose 20 pounds this year, paint the garage this year, or something like that. We at Project 405 would like to challenge you to think beyond 2010 and to set some big life and spiritual goals for yourself.

You are probably thinking “How do you expect me to set major life goals when I probably won’t even get the garage painted this year”. A problem with most of the goals we set in life is that we stop at just setting the goal & don’t finish the process by making a plan that is doable and sustainable over the long haul to ensure that we actually succeed. The plan is a list of smaller goals that build upon each other & eventually lead up to the big life or spiritual goal.

Pastor Noel Heikkinen of Riverview church in Holt MI has a short 10 minute video about goal setting on his blog that he has given us permission to link to. Click the link below to watch an excerpt from a teaching he did last year on this subject , we think it illustrates the kind of goal setting we all should be doing: BIG!

Goal Setting Video

Set Some Life Goals!
We would encourage you to start making some big life goals now along with the plans needed for your goals to succeed.

They don’t have to be fancy, for example, a life goal & plan could look something like this:

GOAL: Retire some place warm!
PLAN:

  1. Live long enough to retire! <— Lose 20 pounds this year <— Exercise 2-3 times a week <— Drag exercise equipment out of storage.
  2. Sell house for as much as possible! <— Keep property value up <— Paint the garage <— Save $5 from each pay check until summer for paint.

The key is to make a plan that works for you and then stick to it.

Don’t Forget To Set Big Spiritual Goals!
When you set your spiritual goals, be sure they include sharing the Gospel & bringing non-Christians you know to Jesus. Write down the names of friends, family members, co-workers, etc. that you will share the Gospel with THIS year.

Big goals really can be reached by finishing the smaller attainable goals in your life/spiritual plans.

Romans 10:14
How are they to call on one they have not believed in? And how are they to believe in one they have not heard of? And how are they to hear without someone preaching to them?

Happy New Year!

1 01 2010

Wishing you a happy & blessed new year.

2010 brings a couple of changes to the Project 405 daily scripture posts; first, we are considering not posting pictures so that we can focus on the words of the scripture without distractions. If you haven’t already done so, please take the poll below regarding pictures with the scripture posts, this will help us in making an informed decision.

Second, all of the scripture quoted will be from the Net Bible Translation, instead of the other translations we have used in the past. The reason for this is to avoid copyright violations. The Net translation was created to have a free an open source for the Word that can be used for purposes like our daily scripture posts. You can read more about the Net Bible here.

We are truly thankful for the opportunity to share the Word with you and appreciate your comments and participation in Project405.

God Bless,
The Project405 Guys

A few week-ends ago we had our first ever Project405 group meeting with our fellow brothers in Christ. God gave us a perfect day and we did some prayin’, some eatin’, some fishin’, some shootin’ and a lot of talkin’. It was a lot of fun and got us re-energized for more Project405 activities.

Here are some photos followed by a short photo montage video.

Thanks to all who came!
