the Father has set by his own authority.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;
and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea
and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Reloaded – Proverb 18:20 – Ice Cream Or Spinach

Proverb 18:20 (The Message)
Words satisfy the mind as much as fruit (ice cream)
does the stomach; good talk is as gratifying as
a good harvest.

Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise

it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.

Reloaded: Matthew 15:12-20 (NIV)

21 05 2008

Then the disciples came to him and asked, “Do you know that
the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?”

He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted
will be pulled up by the roots.

Leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man,
both will fall into a pit.”

Peter said, “Explain the parable to us.”

“Are you still so dull?” Jesus asked them.

“Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach
and then out of the body?

But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart,
and these make a man ‘unclean.’

For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery,
sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

These are what make a man ‘unclean’; but eating with unwashed
hands does not make him ‘unclean.’ “

Road Rage

But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.

Path Of The Wind

As you do not know the path of the wind,

so you cannot understand the work of God,

Reloaded: Proverbs 1:22-33 (NIV) – Wisdom

14 05 2008

Warning Against Rejecting Wisdom

20 Wisdom calls aloud in the street,
she raises her voice in the public squares;

21 at the head of the noisy streets [a] she cries out,
in the gateways of the city she makes her speech:

22 “How long will you simple ones [b] love your simple ways?
How long will mockers delight in mockery
and fools hate knowledge?

23 If you had responded to my rebuke,
I would have poured out my heart to you
and made my thoughts known to you.

24 But since you rejected me when I called
and no one gave heed when I stretched out my hand,

25 since you ignored all my advice
and would not accept my rebuke,

26 I in turn will laugh at your disaster;
I will mock when calamity overtakes you-

27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm,
when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind,
when distress and trouble overwhelm you.

28 “Then they will call to me but I will not answer;
they will look for me but will not find me.

29 Since they hated knowledge
and did not choose to fear the LORD,

30 since they would not accept my advice
and spurned my rebuke,

31 they will eat the fruit of their ways
and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.

32 For the waywardness of the simple will kill them,
and the complacency of fools will destroy them;

33 but whoever listens to me will live in safety
and be at ease, without fear of harm.”

Do you ever feel your spiritual and earthly life are like the guy mowing the big field?

You have tools but they seem so inadequate you ask; How can I do my part in God’s plan and trust in God’s wisdom? My neighbor has tools and skills that seem so much better then mine!
