So much of our time is filled with noise it’s hard to hear God speaking to you. Maybe that’s intentional, maybe we don’t really want to be alone with God, to think about who we really are and realize that He already knows us better than we know ourselves. Maybe we are ashamed of things we have done and think that we aren’t worthy of His love so in order to avoid rejection we turn away from Him first, find other things to distract us.

Regardless of what we have done, we need to always keep this thought foremost in our minds when we think of God; When He looks at us, He doesn’t see a wretched sinner, he sees Jesus. He always sees Jesus, who took away our sins and washed them clean with His blood, who paid our debt.

Why would you want to avoid a God who did that for you?

I’m as guilty as anyone of pushing God behind worldly things, kind of silly isn’t it?

Wow, I forgot what taking a couple of minutes and just turning off everything could do. I was moved by just setting and thinking about all the blessings God has trusted me with.
