Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD.
Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
The two colors speak of the guilt of those whose hands were “covered with blood” (v.15) Being covered with blood speaks of extreme iniquity and perversity. Snow and wool are naturally white, and therefore portray wha tis clean, the blood-guilt (v. 15) having been removed.
Isaiah was a prophet of grace, but forgiveness is not unconditional. It comes through repentance as v. 19 indicates.
Repentance and faith in Jesus = salvation through the grace and mercy of God
